Burning
I've been weeping all week at the closeness of the Lord. Jesus is the most worthy King, the most Holy, the bestest friend, the kindest Savior. I can't think of anything worse than seperation from Him. The cry of my heart is to be stripped of everything exceptHim, to burn for nothing butHim. There is no one like this man who is worthy of everything. There is no real life without Jesus. There is no life and life abundant if He doesn't come and take first place. (John 10:10)
This week Luke 12:35 has been raging in my spirit. I hear Him calling out to the Church to "be dressed and ready for service, (to) keep your lamps burning." Burning. Keep us burning. Fill us with the overflowing oil again, O Lord. Don't allow our minds to become anxious or distracted by things that don't matter.
Wait for the Master to come, watch for Him and be found ready when He shows up, as faithful and wise stewards of His presence. When He arrives He will be looking for His friends, not simply people who ate and drank in His presence, but for those that He KNEWas His friends. Luke 13: 24 says that we must "strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you will seek to enter and will not be able."Many will stand at the door and knock, justifying their actions and making arguments for why they should be allowed in to His House, but surely He will respond and say that "I do not know you."It's not enough to just "do" things for God when the narrow way into the Kingdom is not by performance but by friendship. Does He know you as His friend?
Please, don't get caught up in performance or in looking the part when all He's asking for is your heart. Don't lose sight of the reason for it all when He alone is what we need to be after. It's not unto revival, it's all unto knowingHim. Revival and good works can't help but to follow us when we are aflame to His love. To beholding Him and becoming those who dwell and behold His beauty, inquiring in His temple all the days of our lives (Psalm 27). To lay at His feet forever, to know Him as the most beautiful friend. Burning, girded, yielded, ready, and in love.
In Mark 6:30 the apostles gather around Jesus, telling Him all the things that they had done and taught in His name so that He would be glorified in the earth. Yet all that He responds with is "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while"Truly, all that He wants is friendship.
It's time that we run from lukewarm to burning hot, anointed for service as burning ones. Friends I beg you, get into His presence and wait on Him until you are burning for Him alone and until you get the oil that you need in order to keep going.
Lord, light the flame of our hearts and break the famine of the Word. You are the Great Reward and the Great Supper, the only one its unto and the only one who satisifes. Our Inheritance and our Sustainer.
In this hour I feel the urgent invitation towards the Church to get into the secret place and to fall in love with Him all over again. Even in earthly relationships, He has to stay as the First Love. We need to prioritize Him now, not later, since Jesus desires a bride that burns for Him just like He burns for her. He wants to be loved above all other things. He wants first place. You are being called into more, but marked by fire and anointed to burn. Lord open our eyes to see your wooing and to know the great depths of your love for us.
Even when promotion comes, even in increase, even in the promise fulfilled, these things will never satisfy us but only stimulate. Nothing in this life or the increase that He brings will EVER bring true satisfaction except communion with Him. Even when a dream comes true and life's sweetness surrounds you, don't fall asleep to His presence. Lord, keep us burning and fully awake to You. Apathy, compromise, sleepiness...it hurts Him. Lord don't let us be satisfied by this world. Keep our lamps burning and our oil fresh and clean.
Mark us with the Beatitudes, with hunger, meekness, mourning, poverty of spirit. (Mathew 6) Empty us until its only You that we are full of. Lord let us be found faithful, overflowing and burning.
Lord make us longing lovers, overwhelmed with a desperate longing for communion with You alone, that nothing else could ever compare to meeting with You. His pursuit of us will never compare to any other. Every bit of sweetness this life brings should only lead us further into His arms and into deeper longing for Him. I want to be where He is. I want to be in His heart, laying on His chest, held in His arms. He's so worthy, He's so kind. There's no one like Him, the BrideGroom King. Holy Jesus. The Great Gardener, the One who tends to the vineyard of love within us. The one who watches, who waits, who calls out for us to return to Him. He's a jealous Father, who grieves when He's loved less than another and I promise you He will stop at nothing until you yield everything to Him.

"Fasten me upon your heart as a seal of fire forevermore.
This living, consuming flame
will seal you as my prisoner of love.
My passion is stronger
than the chains of death and the grave,
all consuming as the very flashes of fire
from the burning heart of God.
Place this fierce, unrelenting fire over your entire being.
Rivers of pain and persecution
will never extinguish this flame.
Endless floods will be unable
to quench this raging fire that burns within you.
Everything will be consumed.
It will stop at nothing
as you yield everything to this furious fire
until it won’t even seem to you like a sacrifice anymore."
