Last night as I worshipped the Father, I saw a picture that pierced my soul and shattered the religiosity left inside of me. A sinful, wicked people, broken before God. In repentance and tears they cry out for the pardoning of their sin against the Lord. One by one, He pulls them close to His chest. One hand tenderly embracing, the other wiping away all their transgressions as they weep into His arms. His eyes ablaze with fierce love for His people and hating the sin that harms their purity. "I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me." (Jeremiah 33:8) He washes away the sin that they did against HIMSELF. Imagine that...your own son spitefully curses you to your face multiple times and later comes to you in repentance..and you, ablaze with love, wrap him in your arms and tenderly wipe away all that he did against you in forgiveness. Love truly bears all and endures all things. What a radical and tender God that we serve.
I believe that it's time for the sleeper to wake up (Ephesians 5:14) and for the believer to possess the mind of Christ and ALL the mind of Christ. (1 Cor. 2:16) To be purged of all that disturbs our beloved identity, to be angry at our tolerance for sin, and to refuse complacency. Church, do we not understand that Christ lives INSIDE of us? Righteousness demands total submission and there is no room for compromise.
The time is NOW for the Bride of Christ to truly partner with the Light that rages inside of us. Our faith must become fierce, invasive, offensive & Spirit led, or how will this world ever be saved. What would it look like if we trembled not for the fear that this world is deceived by, but trembled for all the goodness and prosperity that He provides for us?! (Jer. 33:9) What would it look like if the entire Church partnered with the command of Christ that we would "become holy, as He is holy"? (1 Peter 1:16)
Is it not His desire for us to present ourselves to Him as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless before Him? (Ephesians 5:27) Let it be our one pursuit to become like Him. We must get in the Word of God, this is crucial. Moses's face didn't shine when he came down from that mountain because he was up there scrolling through instagram and playing video games, but because he was caught up in face to face communion with the Almighty, allowing Him to strip away anything wicked as He sat alone with the Lord. I want my face to shine like his did, so bright that the people were afraid. (Ex.34) Lord, let the glory of your countenance radiate so vibrantly from our faces that the darkness would tremble under its influence.
Friends, how in the world can we truly be witnesses for Christ when we agree with sin and lies, or waste precious time on our phones or talking about things that don't matter!? Surely the Kingdom is at hand and there is no time to waste. Let us lead this wicked world into repentance by firstly getting on our knees in repentance ourselves. Let us praise God for CoronaVirus as it blasts the Church out from under our covers. Stop hiding your light!!!!! We are called to be a radiant city on a hill, don't you remember? (Mathew 5:14)
A couple of nights ago, the Lord woke me up at 3:00 am with two convicting dreams. As I sat before Him in the early hours of the morning, He called me up higher and showed me a picture of the reality that I believe the majority of the church is currently living in.
The first picture was of a weighted scale with a cup that had stagnant water inside of it, filled only a quarter of the way. The second was the same scale and the same cup, except the cup was steadily, yet very slowly, being filled from above. The third picture was the same scale and the same cup, yet a much faster and heavier stream of water from above. Behind this scale, a picture of the globe appeared, and as the water began to spill over the edges, a bomb violently exploded inside of the cup, only to radiate its light before the whole world.
Once this scene disappeared from my mind, Job 31:6 blasted in both ears "Let me be weighed on honest scales that God may know my integrity". At once, I flip open my bible and am taken aback when the pages fall directly to Daniel 5:27 "Tekel: you have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting." Tekel means weighed and found deficient.
What a desperate thought that the body of Christ would be found stagnant and complacent in faith, not overflowing with His Word when He returns for us. We need the overflow so that we can light up this world with the Spirit of the living God.
Church, we must wake up. He is coming back sooner than we know it and what a shame would it be if we were found deficient when He arrives. Ask yourself, if you were to be weighed on an honest scale before the Lord, would you be found in the overflow of His Presence or lacking? Let us get in the Word of God like never before and fight for the overflow, that we would be as an explosion of radiant light before the nations and truly walk in the power of the Spirit. Let us be found sinless, sickless, whole, blameless and absolutely glowing with the glory of His countenance. To be anointed, sanctified, and consecrated kings and priests before Him (Ex. 28:41). Let our hunger for Him turn into desperate longing. Let our tears turn into travail and our zeal consume us, until it doesn't even seem like a sacrifice anymore. "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you." (Ephesians. 5:14)
"Who is this one? Look at her now! She arises out of her desert, clinging to her beloved. When I awakened you under the apple tree, as you were feasting upon me, I awakened your innermost being with the travail of birth as you longed for more of me.6 Fasten me upon your heart as a seal of fire forevermore. This living, consuming flame will seal you as my prisoner of love. My passion is stronger than the chains of death and the grave, all consuming as the very flashes of fire from the burning heart of God. Place this fierce, unrelenting fire over your entire being.7 Rivers of pain and persecution will never extinguish this flame. Endless floods will be unable to quench this raging fire that burns within you.Everything will be consumed. It will stop at nothing as you yield everything to this furious fireuntil it won’t even seem to you like a sacrifice anymore."
